The Invisible Thread
What connects this selection of photos, is the concept of running out of time, or more simply put: reaching the end. Inspired by the wistful edge of the closure of the school year, the ticking clock is the most literal, for the seconds are wasting away until we reach the end of the line, or even the obvious nature of the road sign signifying the physical end of the road. My self portrait in the red stands, or really lays pathetically, in the end of a life--in the attempt of emulating the despair of someone dying from a noir outtake from the week. The moon rising in the sky attunes to the end of the day, the last dregs of the sunset taking the daytime away, while also instilling hope of the future on the horizon. Finally, our geranium bathed in morning light holds dead or decaying petals; a moment to remember that everything must end eventually, from the fragility and beauty of a perennial, to each and every one of us
